Marie Curie is a charity that provides essential care and support for people living with terminal illnesses across the UK. Through their dedicated nurses who provide hands-on care in people's homes, specialist hospice facilities offering round-the-clock support, and practical information services, Marie Curie ensures that individuals can make the most of their remaining time. For over 75 years, they've helped countless families navigate end-of-life care, funding their vital services through various fundraising initiatives including their 'Good Ways To Win' program, which features raffles and a weekly lottery that allows supporters to contribute to their mission while having the opportunity to win prizes.
Project details
Part of Marie Curie’s – Good Ways to Win marketing strategy, is to direct interested supporters to the ticket purchase flow of the weekly lottery. However, they’re analytics highlighted a drop in conversions as clicks were producing ticket purchases.
We agreed with Marie Curie that the approach to linking potential supporters directly into a transaction flow without prior warning was causing sufficient drop-outs. By updating the content with within the first step with a summary of how the lottery works, we can give the visiting user confidence that they have entered a safe page, in which they can support the charity.
Over the next 3-6 months Marie Curie were able to report a noticeable uplift in conversions and an increase in ticket sales for the weekly lottery.
